About Me.

As I'll learn so much about you on and before your wedding, it's only fair you know a little about me :)
Hello, I’m Roddy!
I’m a wedding photographer/ filmmaker based in East Sussex, though I love to travel across the UK and abroad to capture weddings of all kinds.
You might be wondering why my business is called Everlasting. I photograph and film most of most weddings solo, so why not just call it Roddy McGillivray Weddings? Well try and pronounce McGillivray and you’ll see why!
I jumped into the world of wedding a few years ago and haven’t looked back. Working with real couples to tell their stories is a true joy, and I’m incredibly grateful to do this as my career.
When I’m not capturing weddings, I also take on events around the country and work with a select number of commercial clients. Outside of photo/ filmmaking, I love to travel, cycle, rock climb, and capture life through film and photography.
A few fun facts: as a kid, my family once had 27 guinea pigs (don't ask), and I’ve lived in Czechia, Senegal and Mexico and so speak some French and Spanish.

My philosophy is simple: your wedding is a celebration, not a film/photo set.
I believe the best photos and footage comes from letting the day unfold naturally, without stopping the flow to set up "fake" moments.
I’m not there to direct your day, boss your guests around, or turn your wedding into a photoshoot. Instead, I work candidly and quietly, often blending in so well that guests assume I’m just a friend with a fancy camera.
Your enjoyment is my number one priority. I want you to spend your time hugging your family, laughing with your friends, and actually eating the canapés, not standing in a line for hours of formal poses.
When we do sneak away for a few couple shots, I keep it short, relaxed, and genuinely fun. No awkward posing, just the two of you taking a breather while I capture the moment.
By taking this step back, I can capture the authentic atmosphere of your day. The tear during the vows, the roar of laughter during the speeches, and the chaotic joy on the dance floor. My goal is to hand you photos or a film that doesn't just look like your wedding day, but feels like it too.
How I work.

For my combined photo and film packages, I work alongside a trusted associate who I’ve built a great creative rhythm with.
Having two people focused on different mediums allows us to cover the day more fully, from multiple angles, without anything feeling rushed or intrusive. It also means nothing is missed — while one of us is capturing still moments, the other is quietly telling the story through film.
I really love the creativity that comes from working as a team. Bouncing ideas around, reading moments together, and adapting on the fly leads to more natural, thoughtful coverage and a stronger final result.
Most importantly, it creates a calm, friendly presence on the day, so you can relax and enjoy your wedding knowing it’s being captured in the best possible way.
It's not always just me...
